After a year of 6th form I realised that this path wasn’t right for me so I decided to apply for the engineering technical support apprenticeship at Consort Medical.

Don’t just take our word for it – see what some of our colleagues have to say about working at Consort Medical.
After completing my master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Aston University I joined Consort’s two-year graduate scheme.
I am responsible for the Consort Medical apprenticeship scheme. My main roles are managing our apprentices’ learning and development and recruiting new apprentices into the business in line with our organisational strategy.
After finishing my A-levels I decided that I wanted to start my career by undertaking an apprenticeship within the science sector. I decided to apply to Consort Medical as I was told they are one of the best employees in my area for apprenticeships.
A former school colleague completed his training at Consort Medical and encouraged me to send an unsolicited application as he thought I would be a good fit. And he was right!
After the interview what made me pick Consort Medical as an employer was the developmental opportunities and support they were offering, as well as rotating round the business.
After I completed my A Levels, I decided that my educational journey was over so I applied to come to Bespak as an Assembly Operator working on an exciting new project – an autoinjector.
I moved to Consort Medical as I wanted to work for a good company who could give me lots of scope and opportunities for progression and development. As the Logistics Lead, I work directly with two Material Leads on a day-to-day basis.
I was initially attracted to work for Consort after meeting some employees at a careers fair. They seemed very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Normally when you meet professionals in industry, you instantly feel intimidated, but I instantly felt at ease.
It has taken a lot of time and hard work to get to where I am today. I started as a temp operator and since switching to a permanent role I have worked across various business units before finding a new home in Quality Engineering.
